The Yucaipa High girls and the Redlands High boys prevailed on Friday, April 28, at the Citrus Belt League swimming finals at Crafton Hills College.
The Yucaipa girls finished with 648 points, to beat second-place Redlands (617) and third-place Citrus Valley (574). Beaumont finished fourth with 538 points.
The Redlands boys prevailed with 683 points, ahead of Beaumont (602) and Redlands East Valley (550). Citrus Valley finished fourth with 531 points and Yucaipa fifth with 302.
Josh Peace led the Yucaipa boys by winning the 200 free and the 500 free.
Beaumont’s Yaroslav Puryshev won the 50 free and the 100 free.
Redlands’ Ethan de Vera won the 100 fly and the 100 back.
Citrus Valley’s Bryce Hitter captured the 100 IM.
Redlands’ Wyatt Miner won the 100 breast.
On the girls’ side, Redlands’ Faith Deano won the 50 free and 100 back.
Citrus Valley’s Hayley Smith captured the 200 IM and the 100 breast and the Blackhawks’ Julianna Stover won the 500 free.
Yucaipa’s Sammy Byers won the 200 free and the Thunderbirds’ Payton Harp captured the 100 fly.
REV’s Emma Guerrero won the 100 free.
