Blackhawks down Cajon
The Citrus Valley baseball team defeated Cajon 5-2 on Thursday, April 22.
Riley Hunsaker led Citrus Valley with a 3-for-3 effort at the plate and Jared Snyder and Cy Robertson added two hits each. Blake Griffin earned the victory on the mound, improving to 4-0.
The win made the Blackhawks 11-2 overall and 4-0 in the CBL entering this week’s play.
Wildcat baseball edges Beaumont
The Redlands East Valley baseball team defeated Beaumont 1-0 on Thursday, April 22.
Gabe Chaparro went 2 for 3 at the plate for Redlands East Valley and Gregory and Dylan Baragry both had two hits for Beaumont and Ian Umschied hit a double. Ray Fellows yielded seven hits to get the pitching victory for REV. Baragry allowed seven hits for Beaumont and took the loss. Justin Granado singled in the game’s only run to win it for REV.
REV also defeated Yucaipa 5-2 on Tuesday, April 20. Chase Dabbs allowed one hit over 6 2/3 innings and hit a three-run home run for REV. Chaparro had two hits in three at-bats.
Terrier golfers prevail
The Redlands boys’ golf team defeated Redlands East Valley 196 to 225 on Thursday, April 22 and Oak Valley Golf Course.
Wee led Redlands with a 37 and Hopson and Brandon Hartling both had 38s. REV’s Timothy Cavarno was medalist with a 33. Redlands is now 5-0 overall and 2-0 in league.

The Citrus Valley High softball team fell to Riverside Poly 5-0 on Thursday, April 22.
REV softball tips Palm Desert
The Redlands East Valley softball team defeated Palm Desert 9-8 on Monday, April 19. Rose Ramirez went 3 for 3 at the plate and had four RBI and Ivy Walker had two hits and one RBI.
Redlands High softball wins
The Redlands High softball team beat Palm Desert 10-8 on Thursday, April 22.
Jacey Leyvas led the Terriers at the plate with three hits and two RBI and Mikayla Mendoza added two hits and two RBI.
Terrier baseball edged
The Redlands High baseball team fell to Cajon 8-6 on Tuesday, April 20.
Arnold Regalado led the Terriers with two hits and two RBI and Tyler Scott added two hits.
Redlands players feted
The University of Redlands swept Chapman 2-0, 8-0 and 8-1 recently and two Bulldogs were honored.
Colton’s Madeline Gonzalez was named the Pitcher of the Week and second baseman Collette Allen was named Hitter of the Week.
Allen went 5 for 9 and had eight runs batted in. She hit three doubles and a home run. She leads the SCIAC with 18 RBI and a .438 batting average.
Gonzalez secured the 8-1 victory by throwing seven innings and allowing four hits while striking out seven. She also went 2 for 3 at the plate.
Bulldogs’ Megas honored
Sophomore sprinter Christian Megas of the University of Redlands was named the SCIAC Track Athlete of the Week for his efforts at the recent Ashel Cunningham meet.
Megas won the 200-meter dash in 22.53 and took second in the 100 in 11.07. He also contributed to the first-place 1,600-meter relay.
