Highland’s 25th annual Community Trails Day
Trailhead: From 8 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 13, beginning at Aurantia Park on Greenspot Road.
Route: Start from the trailhead in Aurantia Park going north to the new segment of the Aplin Trail, which connects to the Red Hill Trail behind Cram Elementary School. Hikers will then head east on a loop of trails including the North Fork Trail, a portion of the Shelton Trail, then back onto the Red Hill Trail, returning to the Aplin Trail and back to the park.
Trails at 10
Trailhead: 10 a.m. Saturday, April 13, at Redlands Gateway Ranch, 31313 Live Oak Canyon Road, approximately 1.6 miles west of Interstate 10.
Route: After a brief talk about the history of Gateway Ranch and the city’s Herngt “Aki” Preserve on the north side of the road, hikers will be guided to the connector trail.

The April 20 Trails at 10 hike — set for 9 a.m., an hour earlier than usual — will be at the newly opened Zanja Trail, along the historic Mill Creek Zanja on the west side of the city. Staging at Zanja Park at the corner of Lincoln Street and Laramie Avenue, the hike will feature discussions of the history of the Mill Creek Zanja.
