It was nice to see photos and notes (somewhat overdue) construction of the new parking garage in Redlands.
At the same time, it would be good if someone in “planning” is monitoring the rapid development of electric and driverless vehicle and transportation assistance such as Uber and the impact they are having on private use of cars, diminishing the need for parking.
Of course, parking is more critical in large cities. Nevertheless, parking is important in smaller city planning and construction budget allocation.
Larger cities are already thinking about what to do with all the existing parking garages as they become less needed.
