Congratulations to the Redlands Bowl Performing Arts for bringing the 97th season of the Redlands Bowl Summer Music Festival to thousands of viewers watching online performances.
On Aug. 15, five weeks into the nine-week season, Executive Director Beverly Noerr reported there had been more than 80,000 page views on the bowl’s Facebook and Instagram pages. Many of those visits included families and backyard viewing parties, so there surely were many more viewers — and that doesn’t count the rebroadcasts by cable TV providers.
We also salute Wayne Scott, president of LifeHouse Theater, for his remarkable coverage of bowl performances during the summer. With LifeHouse shows dark for most of the year — he hopes to revive the season outdoors on Oct. 17 — his column is on hiatus.
We hope he returns soon and that we can all join him under the stars at the bowl next year for his production of “The Little Mermaid” musical.
