Robert Kasper, a Redlands resident since 1985 who started a Kasper Construction and built commercial buildings throughout Southern California, died on Feb. 8, 2023. He was 72.

Born on Sept. 11, 1950, in Topeka, Kansas, he grew up in Pacific Palisades. He left California in 1969 to attend Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, where he met his wife of 48 years, Anne Bergeron Kasper.

In Spokane he worked for the Carpenters Union. They had two daughters, Carly (Aubin) and Nicole (Carlson).

In 1985, the family left Spokane and moved to Redlands where he started the construction company.

He retired in 2014 and joined the Redlands Police Volunteer Citizens Patrol where he made many new friends.

Kasper is survived by his daughters, Carly and Nicole, three grandsons, Nathan, Joey and Daniel; brother Tony of Redlands and sisters Patty of Paso Robles and Kathy of Atascadero, California.
