Nancy Jeanne Doss died on March 9, 2023, in her Mentone home with Tim, her husband of 35 years, by her side. She was 76.
Born on June 20, 1946, in Los Angeles to Henry and Zelnora Bernard, she worked in for Lockton Insurance in Los Angeles as a risk management specialist before working at Jan Black State Farm Insurance in Yucaipa. She was an insurance broker at Redlands Federal Savings and Loan in Redlands from the time she graduated college until it closed as Redlands Federal Bank in 1998.
A lifelong Redlands resident, she attended Crafton Elementary from 1952-53 before switching to Kingsbury Elementary. She also attended Dunlap Acres School. She graduated from Redlands High School in 1964 and from the University of Redlands with a degree in speech pathology in 1969.
After retirement, she served on the board of directors at the Peace Academy and she worked at Mozart’s Fine Gifts. She attended Trinity Episcopal Church in Redlands, where she was a member of the choir and served recently as a senior warden. She was the area representative to the Diocesan Council on Commission on Ministry
She was a member of Spinet and the Soroptimists and sang in the Community Chorus of Redlands.
She was a docent at Kimberly Crest and a Red Shirt volunteer usher at the Redlands Bowl.
She served on the Redlands Daily Facts editorial board and was an annual donor to the Redlands Symphony.
She is survived by her husband; stepchildren Timmy and Sarah of Riverside and Andrew of Pennsylvania; grandchildren Jacob and Chailee; and great-grandchildren Olivia, Venice and Sebstian. She was pre-deceased by her brother Hank.
Services were held in April 22 at Trinity Episcopal Church. Her ashes will be spread in the church’s Memorial Garden.
