Anna Bertha Villarreal Granillo, an accountant and tax auditor for the Internal Revenue Service, died after recovering from a chronic illness on Sunday, Aug. 28, surrounded by her family. She was 71.
Born on Dec. 29, 2950, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, she was a longtime resident of Redlands.
She volunteered for many organizations, cooking meals for the homeless, preparing care packages and financial donations. She was a botanist and horticulturalist, grew an array of roses and other flowers, and many fruits and vegetables.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Alfonso V. Granillo Jr.; three children, Edward and his wife Eddie, Richard and Ann Marie; two daughter-in-laws; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters; and a brother.
