The Redlands Fire Department responded to a reported vegetation fire in the wash area of Mountain View Avenue and San Bernardino Avenue Sunday afternoon, June 6. No injuries were reported.

San Bernardino County Fire Department units were the first to arrive on scene to the 1 p.m. fire and begin a fire attack. The Redlands Fire Department was requested once jurisdiction was determined. Upon arrival Redlands firefighters  focused primary actions to support the efforts of county fire crews, assisting in fire attack and placing hose lines on the fire’s edges.

The fire was contained in approximately 40 minutes and was kept to 7.8 acres. The overall incident lasted approximately eight hours due to extensive overhaul.

There was no damage to any structures or property. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
