Unexpected visitor

Richard and Kristin Thibedeau woke Saturday morning to find a silver pheasant in their fenced back yard in the Palo Alto Drive/Solana Drive area of southeast Redlands. “It may have been a pet, as he wasn’t afraid of us. He would come right up to us,” said Richard. The bird is native to Southeast Asia, but they can be purchased in the United States. “It's a beautiful bird about 18 inches long including its tail plumage,” said Richard. The pheasant remained in their yard all day Saturday and through the night, only leaving when the Thibedeaus urged him through an open gate on Sunday.
