The Hollywood sign at dusk

David J. Card, the Redlands Community News’ most productive freelance photographer, took this shot of the iconic sign overlooking Hollywood. It sits near the top of Mount Lee in the Hollywood Hills area of the Santa Monica Mountains. It was designed by architect Thomas Fisk Goff and erected in 1923. Built with steel, sheet metal and wood, it is 45 feet tall and 350 feet wide, according to hollywoodsign.org.
