Redlands has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada for its FY 2017-18 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report, the 16th consecutive year the city has been recognized with the honor.

The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting and represents a significant achievement by Redlands Management Services Department’s Finance Division, Director Danielle Garcia and the core team members who worked with the city’s external auditors and prepared corresponding materials, according to a press release.

The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting Program was established in 1945 to encourage and assist state and local governments to go beyond the minimum requirements of generally accepted accounting principles to prepare comprehensive annual financial reports that evidence the spirit of transparency and full disclosure and then to recognize individual governments that succeed in achieving that goal.

Redlands has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for its comprehensive annual financial report every year since the fiscal year 2002-03 report.
