A 26-year-old Redlands man has been arrested on suspicion of prying open the door of a patrol car in the parking lot of the sheriff’s Central Station on Third Street and stealing a rifle, a shotgun and ammunition.

The break-in occurred between 7 a.m. Monday, May 27, and 7 a.m. and Wednesday, May 29. Crime scene investigators processed the car and the surrounding area for forensic evidence.

The theft investigation led detectives to Nicolas Pisano, believed to be responsible for the theft of a pole camera from the parking lot of a Redlands business. Detectives worked with Redlands police to obtain a search warrant for Pisano’s Redlands residence.

On Thursday, June 6, Redlands Police Department SWAT, Central Station detectives and Valley Gang Team served the search warrant and recovered the stolen pole camera, rifle, shotgun and ammunition.

Pisano was interviewed and later booked at Central Detention Center for burglary, grand theft, receiving known stolen property and vandalism. Bail is set at $100,000.
