The driver of a Chevrolet Suburban heading north on Cajon Boulevard in San Bernardino Sunday afternoon drifted into the southbound lanes and caused a crash involving four vehicles that left a 6-year-old boy and a 28-year-old woman dead, the CHP reports.

The accidents occurred at 5:15 p.m. Oct. 18, north of Keenbrook Road.

“Due to the driver’s level of intoxication, the Chevrolet Suburban crossed over the double yellow lines into the opposing traffic lane and collided head-on into a silver Toyota Camry,” said a press release. “A grey Nissan Titan was traveling southbound on Cajon Boulevard collided into the Chevrolet Suburban as it rolled into the opposing lanes of traffic.

“As the Chevrolet Suburban rolled, the driver was ejected onto the road way. A white Ford F-150 was traveling southbound on Cajon Boulevard then collided into silver Toyota Camry.”

The boy, a passenger of the Suburban, and the driver of the Camry were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Suburban was taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center with critical injuries. He was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving at the hospital.
