Redlands police arrested a suspect last week in the home invasion robbery of a disabled man he met online.

The victim, a 43-year-old Redlands man who is uses to a wheelchair, met the suspect online. The two agreed to meet at the victim’s apartment in the 200 block of New York Street on Jan. 19. Once inside the apartment, the suspect robbed the victim at gunpoint.

The victim was not injured but was transported to the hospital for medical issues he suffered as a result of the robbery.

Redlands police conducted an investigation and identified the suspect as Adam St. John Towe, 20, of Riverside. He was taken into custody without incident Wednesday, Feb. 3, at a motel in the 3600 block of La Sierra Avenue in Riverside where he had been staying. Detectives served a search warrant at his motel room and recovered evidence related to the robbery.

Towe was booked for the home invasion robbery and committing a crime against a person with a disability. He is being held at West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga in lieu of $250,000 bail.
