Task force members responded to reports of human trafficking at 4 p.m. Wednesday,  May 13, on G Street in the San Bernardino conducting surveillance in hopes of locating and identifying the juvenile. They found her walking on the sidewalk in the 900 Block of North G Street.

“Investigators initiated contact with the female, who was determined to be 17 years old, and a reported runaway from San Bernardino County,” said a press release. “With the assistance of an officer from the San Bernardino Police Department, the juvenile was detained while task force members completed their investigation.”

The juvenile victim was rescued, provided immediate services and safely released/returned to San Bernardino County Children and Family Services.

The San Bernardino County Human Trafficking Task Force is composed of investigators from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, San Bernardino County district attorney's office, Ontario Police Department, Redlands Police Department, California State Parole, Office of Homeland Security and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
