A Lake Elsinore man walking the westbound lanes of Interstate 10 Saturday night in Bloomington was struck killed, the CHP reports.

At 7:17 p.m. Feb. 20, Christopher Tamayo, a 33-year-old Riverside man, was driving a 2008 Jeep Wrangler west of Cedar Avenue when it struck the 43-year-old man. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is unknown why the pedestrian was walking on the freeway. His identity of is being withheld pending identification and notification of next of kin by the San Bernardino County coroner’s office.
