Firefighters responded to a structure fire in a single-story residence in the 1500 block of Lori Court early Wednesday morning. No injuries were reported.
Units arriving shortly before 3 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, found no visible smoke or flames evident from outside the structure. Crews located a small fire in the attic above a bathroom.
The fire was extinguished within 15 minutes and contained primarily to the attic with extension into one bathroom. Firefighters took extra effort to limit damage to the contents of the home. Damage to the property was estimated at $10,000 with an additional $5,000 in content loss.
The family was able to escape the home safely prior to firefighters’ arrival.
Firefighters credited early recognition by the residents and rapid response by crews for the limited damage.
In addition to 18 firefighters from Redlands, three firefighters from San Bernardino County Fire Station 9 responded. Firefighters remained on scene for about an hour and 15 minutes.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
