The district attorney’s office has charged a Loma Linda woman with filing a false police report with the intent to commit insurance fraud, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.

On Wednesday, May 13, detectives from Central Station conducted an investigation and discovered Brenda Baylon, 49, had worked with Rafael Larios, a 31-year-old San Bernardino resident, to dispose of the vehicle, said a press release. The vehicle was abandoned in Chino and was stripped of major components.

On May 19, detectives from the Central Station served a search warrant at Larios' business, Lost Motor Sports at 1145 E Orange Show Road, San Bernardino, and located components from Baylon's vehicle, to include the engine and transmission.

Larios was arrested for operating a chop shop, possession of stolen property, insurance fraud and conspiracy.
