The city of Redlands has closed seven ballfields located in Community Park. The closure comes in response to new restrictions on youth sports and social-distancing guidelines adopted by San Bernardino County and the state of California.
Under the new restrictions, recreational team and youth sports of any kind, including for purposes of conditioning, drills and exercise activities, are not permitted in City parks. Until further notice, the ballfields in Community Park will be locked and will not be available to the public.
The city will share official guidelines for recreational team and youth sports when they are made available by the state.
In the meantime, the city encourages everyone to do their part to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by wearing a face covering, maintaining appropriate physical distance washing your hands frequently, said a city press release.
