An unidentified female driver died on Sunday, Nov. 10, during a solo-car crash in Bloomington, the California Highway Patrol said.
According to authorities, the Silver KIA Sorento driven by the victim engulfed in fire moments after it collided with two different street signals near Cedar Avenue and 7th Street, in Bloomington.
The accident occurred around 7:52 p.m. when the female driver, for unknown reasons, went off the road as she traveled northbound on Cedar Avenue, said authorities.
At first, the vehicle collided with a tri-phased signal at the south east portion of the intersection, then, it continued through the intersection and collided into a tri-phased signal at the north east portion of the intersection, said authorities.
The vehicle immediately became fully engulfed on fire while the driver remained in the vehicle, authorities said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The identity of the deceased is pending identification and notification of next of kin by the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office.
