Graduation ceremonies planned for the first week in June have been postponed.
On Friday, April 3, the district announced the decision to postpone commencement ceremonies in light of COVID-19.
"The district is committed to celebrating seniors," said a press release. "We are actively brainstorming ideas for commemorating our students at a later date. Any ceremony will depend on federal, state and county guidance on gatherings. When it is safe to do so, we will celebrate our resilient class of 2020."
Also announced was the decision to cancel prom and grad nights. The district wrote that it is working with vendors to secure refunds for students who bought tickets to these events.
The district is still determining a safe process to distribute yearbook orders and will inform students how they can be picked up at a later date.
