Registration ended for the Redlands reverse Christmas parade when 500 drivers signed up, but the city is seeking people to put on displays.
The city is still seeking local businesses, nonprofits and residents interested in creating displays for this year’s Christmas in the Park drive-thru event scheduled Saturday, Dec. 19, at the Redlands Sports Park in partnership with the Redlands Noon Kiwanis.
Nearly 2,000 people have registered to attend the three-hour, family-friendly, drive-thru experience, keeping the fun traditions and excitement of the annual Christmas Parade alive in a safe and engaging way. Unlike the traditional parade, the floats will be stationary and visitors will drive around.
Beginning at 5 p.m. Dec. 19, the parking lot at the Redlands Sports Complex on Dearborn Street north of San Bernardino Avenue will be transformed into a drive-thru Christmas wonderland as families experience the sights and sounds of the holidays from the safety of their vehicles.
Attendance for the event is limited to 500 vehicles and registration is closed. Only registered vehicles may attend.
There is no entry fee to participate in the display, which is open to all ages, individuals, families, clubs, nonprofits and businesses. Visit cityofredlands.org/christmas for additional information about creating your own display or to fill out an entry form.
