Cesar Pineda was killed at approximately 6:19 p.m. Tuesday, May 23 in Highland. Responding to a 911 call in the 26300 block of ninth street, deputies from Highland Police Station located Pineda who was suffering from a gunshot wound. The deputies and emergency medical personnel rendered medical aid at the scene but despite their efforts, Pineda was pronounced deceased.
Detectives with the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division Homicide Detail are investigating.
A suspect has not been identified.
