Redlands has joined the Small Business Saturday Coalition along with the Redlands Chamber of Commerce to support Small Business Saturday, which takes place on Saturday, Nov. 30.
Working together in support of Small Business Saturday, staff from the city and Redlands Chamber of Commerce will be in Ed Hales Park from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, with giveaways, live music in the park and more as shoppers look for the perfect gifts while supporting small business.
A limited supply of free Shop Small-themed reusable shopping bags are available along with other goodies for shoppers.
The bags are a favorite of shoppers every year.
Also available will be a self-help Selfie Picture Station located near the Christmas tree in Ed Hales Park. Hand-held holiday themed props are available to take selfies to share on social media or send to friends and family.
Started by American Express in 2010, Small Business Saturday serves as the ceremonial kickoff to the holiday shopping season for small businesses across the United States.
In 2018, U.S. shoppers reported spending an estimated $17.8 billion at independent retailers and restaurants on the day, according to a survey commissioned by American Express. Small Business Saturday celebrates the diversity of small businesses across the U.S., and the city of Redlands, along with the Redlands Chamber of Commerce, recognize the importance of supporting small businesses, the jobs they help create and the culture they foster in local communities.
