The Community Chorus of Redlands will present “The Healing Power of Music,” a program of choral music, congregational hymns and special reading at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 1, at the University of Redlands Memorial Chapel.

The program is sponsored by the John Walsh and Omer E. Robbins of the chaplain’s office of the University of Redlands.

“This presentation of choral music, congregational hymns and special readings is intended to bring continued healing to our communities after the tragic events this year not only in our region and country, but throughout the world,” said a press release. “We believe that through singing together we may find solace and strength to deal with these events and find renewed energy to continue to reach out in support of each other.

The 65 singers that comprise the Community Chorus of Redlands are under the direction of Jeffrey H. Rickard. Choral music by well-known American and European composers, as well as two familiar hymns for choir and audience will be performed.
