Kimberly Juniors start the new year off strong

The 104th year of Kimberly Juniors is in full swing. Weekly Saturday morning meetings began Aug. 18 and will continue throughout the school year, concluding on May 2. As always, the Kimberly Junior officers begin each meeting with business governed by parliamentary procedure.

Following the formal meeting is tea table, a time to share refreshments with friends. This fall, members have enjoyed tea table delights such as make-your-own parfaits (“parfait day”) and the luau-themed welcome breakfast.

Classes are an important part of each Kimberly Juniors meeting. So far, classes have ranged from container gardening, to macramé to Zumba. The annual KJ Tours Day took members to A.K. Smiley Public Library, Lincoln Memorial Shrine, Kimberly Crest and University of Redlands. Later in the year, class time will be devoted to rehearsing for the annual Spring Tea performance, a longstanding KJ tradition.

Kimberly Juniors is an organization for high school girls who meet Saturday mornings at the Contemporary Club. To apply for membership, a parent should send a letter of intent to the board of trustees for the 2020-21 school year.
