San Bernardino County Museum Association, the nonprofit organization established to support the museum in Redlands, has appointed Geoff Corbin as chief executive officer effective Monday, April 15.

Corbin, a 52-year-old Seattle native, has a master’s degree in nonprofit leadership from Seattle University. He was selected after a nationwide search by the Arts Consulting Group. The 60-year-old museum association works to provide financial sustainability, resource development and adequate capacity for the museum, says a press release.

Museum Director Melissa Russo led initiatives to create an annual lecture series, revamp exhibits and renovate the gift shop. Museum Association Board President Abby Flores said the museum is “the launching point for many children’s fascination with lifelong exploration.

“As the museum association, our mission is to support these experiences and ensure that the museum is open and accessible to all — because there shouldn’t be limits on learning,” she said.
